Mandai Wildlife Group teams up with collectibles producer, XM Studios, to create exclusive zoo-inspired figurines

02 Mar 2024
In celebration of World Wildlife Day, Mandai Wildlife Group and XM Studios have teamed up to launch a series of collectible figurines, featuring six beloved animals from the Singapore Zoo. Each of the animals is part of the Group’s Adopt an Animal programme and includes the African penguin, Aldabra giant tortoise, California sea lion, Malayan sun bear, pygmy hippopotamus, and the Sumatran orangutan.

Daisy Tan, Vice President of Retail, Mandai Wildlife Group, said, “Through this collaboration with XM Studios, we hope to reach a very diverse audience together, and create awareness about different wildlife species that share our planet. These animal figurines have stories of their own in our parks, where they are cared for and loved. We hope these meaningful nuggets of stories are told and retold amongst friends and family. We are putting 50 per cent of the sales proceeds into wildlife projects we support, so every purchase comes with Conservation Included.

As part of the official launch of this series of collectible figurines, Mandai Wildlife Group and XM Studios collaborated with media personalities, artists, and creators who stepped forward to give their time to hand-painting and creating personalised versions of the animal figurines. These one-of-a-kind pieces will be sold on Mandai Wildlife Group’s e-shops on Lazada and Shopee from 8 March 2024, and 100 per cent of the proceeds will go towards conservation projects in Singapore and the region.

Ben Ang, CEO of XM Studios, shared, “We wholeheartedly support Mandai Wildlife Group's mission of caring for the planet, protecting animals and nature. XM Studios is very grateful for the opportunity to showcase our expertise in design and production through these figurines inspired by the magnificent creatures that call the Singapore Zoo their home. This partnership showcases the extraordinary outcomes that emerge when like-minded organisations come together to raise awareness for wildlife. Together, we hope to make a difference, one figurine at a time.”

The mainline figurines will retail at $39 each, and for a limited time, can be purchased at a launch price of $29. They are available online at Mandai Wildlife Group’s e-shops on Lazada and Shopee, as well as in-store at the retail shops in the Mandai Wildlife Reserve and XM Studio Store. For more details on the different animals and the figurines, please refer to Annex A.

The hexagonal base design allows enthusiasts to combine multiple figurines to form a diorama of the Singapore Zoo.
