Volunteer as a School Group
At Mandai, we strive to build a community of active citizens in a global world, where volunteers are driven by values and a sense of purpose.
Aligned to the Ministry of Education (MOE)'s 21st Century Competency Framework and the Character & Citizenship Education (CCE) pedagogical approaches, our volunteer programmes offer students an opportunities for authentic learning through the act of giving.
Wildlife Buddies
Singapore Zoo / River Wonders
Students develop activities based on our park animals to guide and engage their juniors at Singapore Zoo or River Wonders.
Programme objectives
- Understand the importance of communication in teamwork
- Develop empathy for others through perspective-taking
- Use design-thinking approach to develop activities for buddies
Commitment
- 2 sessions of 3-hour training
- 1 guiding day to guide buddies using activities developed
Note: Students need to spend time outside of training session to do their own research and develop activities for trial during second training session.
