Volunteer as a School Group

At Mandai, we strive to build a community of active citizens in a global world, where volunteers are driven by values and a sense of purpose.

Aligned to the Ministry of Education (MOE)'s 21st Century Competency Framework and the Character & Citizenship Education (CCE) pedagogical approaches, our volunteer programmes offer students an opportunities for authentic learning through the act of giving.

In-Park Guiding

Wildlife Buddies

Students develop activities based on our Zoo animals to guide and engage their juniors at Wild Africa, Singapore Zoo.

Programme objectives

  • Understand the importance of communication in teamwork
  • Develop empathy for others through perspective-taking
  • Use design-thinking approach to develop activities for buddies

Commitment

  • 2 sessions of 3-hour training
  • 1 guiding day to guide buddies using activities developed

Note: Students need to spend time outside of training session to do their own research and develop activities for trial during second training session.
Includes admission for training and guiding days S$ 25 /per student
